How well will a desktop with these settings run Battlefield 3?

I want to run battlefield 3 on the highest settings. Everything on and everything maxed out. Also if you know, I'd like to know if it would run skyrim on the highest settings too.

Good but the GTX500 series are not that good, the GTX400 series perform better and run dual tech. with that said an AMD cpu will perform better and the i5 alone needs an upgrade. your ram is perfect and the display don't matter, only want the PC specs not monitor. If you ran an AMD Phenom XfX Black Edition Quad Core with the Flagship Nvidia Geforce GTX 470 You are able to max out BF3 in DirectX11 easy

The processor is the best you can get but the GTX 550ti is more of an entry level gaming card. You're looking at being able to play BF3 at medium settings and Skyrim at High settings.



You need a card like the GTX 560ti to comfortably max out Skyrim, and the GTX 560ti will comfortably play BF3 at High settings. You need a GTX 590 to comfortably max out BF3. The 6970 and GTX 570 will stay a little bit above 30fps with everything maxed out on BF3.
